With UK air conditioning sales nationally down by around 10 per cent, Climate Center has achieved healthy double digit growth – outperforming the market by some 25 per cent.
Ian Carroll, who heads up air conditioning sales, says: “It’s a great performance and very pleasing, particularly in what is generally acknowledged to be a very tough year. It reflects Climate’s excellent offering in terms of brands, and the fruits of our focus on customer service – which is now really paying off.”
Daikin and Fujitsu are Climate’s key air conditioning brands, and both have benefited from the sustained increase in sales. Daikin products were added two years ago, providing a premium offering at the top end of the market.
Ian Carroll says: “The wholesale agreement with Daikin UK has been a fantastic success for both parties. For us, it has added a market leading brand with a long held reputation for reliability and innovation, utilising advanced technology that is second to none in the market.”
Julian Brunnock, Business Development Manager for Daikin UK, says: “We are delighted the relationship with Climate Center is proving to be so successful. An increasing number of small installers want access to high quality air conditioning products – and our partnership with Climate Center is meeting this demand. It offers opportunities to purchase Daikin air conditioning units together with all related materials such as piping, spares and accessories.”
Ian Carroll said: “In addition to Daikin, the Fujitsu products in our portfolio provide an excellent quality and popular brand in the middle of the market – enabling us to meet all needs”.
Another factor behind the success is the harnessing of Wolseley’s logistics capability, to ensure that product is delivered on time, every time.
“There are huge pressures on contractors today, with project lead times getting shorter all the time. A customer can win a job, call us up and place an order, and in many cases we can deliver the equipment the very next morning to site. It’s a brilliant service that few competitors can match,” says Ian Carroll.
